The Borana Rangelands comprise of magnificent and unique wilderness, grasslands, and wildlife of the Horn of Africa. The Borana rangelands traverse the international Boundaries of Kenya, Ethiopia, and Somalia. The Borana culture and Livelihoods are dependent solely on rangelands as their ways of life pastoralism. In the past few decades the famous Borana Rangelands and Culture are facing daunting threats to their long-term survival due to invasion by neighboring communities, rangelands degradations and mismanagement. The fate of both rests with the Borana themselves as they work to figure out how to benefit from their incredible natural resources while preserving them.
